Job Summary:
The University of Chicago is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Summer Interns to join our diverse and dynamic technology teams. As Construction Management intern, you will have the opportunity to support critical systems used to manage construction projects, work orders, assets, and operational processes. This includes systems that manage construction project setup, tracking, and reporting. This internship provides a unique chance to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to meaningful projects that support the University’s mission of excellence in education and research.
Construction Management Project Areas:
Documentation and Knowledge Base Project
- Develop structured documentation and knowledge base materials, including high-level system overview guides, new employee onboarding, and reference materials.
- Documentation of common processes, such as requesting access or navigating systems.
- Create basic process and system diagrams.
Construction Systems and Data Support Project:
- Document how construction projects are tracked through our systems.
- Review project data for completeness and consistency.
- Organize and standardize information used for reporting.
- Create high-level documentation of construction project lifecycles.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- GPA: 2.5 +
- Currently enrolled in a certificate or degree program in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to stay focused in remote or hybrid environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Experienced in managing document repositories and documents.
- Skilled in project management and organizing information.
- Competent in compiling and summarizing datasheets.
