Key Responsibilities
  • Observes and assists the pharmacy department to gain knowledge of the pharmacy technician role to determine career path options while in high school. 
  • Learns and demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members and patients. 
  • Learns and demonstrates competency in dispensing and delivery of medications. This includes developing competence in the department’s use of information systems, technology, and automation used for dispensing and storage of medications. 
  • Learns and demonstrates compliance of legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. This includes but is not limited to DNV regulations, USP requirements, HIPAA, and controlled substance procedures. 
  • Learns and participates in non-sterile and sterile compounding preparation in accordance with USP guidelines. 
  • Learns and demonstrates competency in department safety strategies related to error prevention. 

Good to Have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
